DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017

An open-weight multimodal MoE model from DeepSeek with a 1M-token context, built for agentic coding, long-document work, and vision tasks.

DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017 is a dated snapshot in DeepSeek's V4.1 Flash series, released on October 17, 2026 under the MIT license. It is a causal encoder-decoder mixture-of-experts model with 552B backbone parameters, activating 8B parameters per input token and 16B per output token, published in FP8 with safetensors shards. It accepts text and images and generates text.

The model targets reasoning, coding, agent workflows, and image-to-text tasks. It handles agentic programming such as terminal operations and multi-step task completion, long-document processing through its 1M-token context window, visual understanding with image input, and creative coding like game development and 3D modeling. Tool calling, multi-turn dialogue, thinking mode, and interleaved image content are supported.

Compared with its predecessor, this revision improves benchmark results across nearly all categories while shortening task execution time and output length, aiming at a better cost-performance tradeoff. The API model name deepseek-flash and the calling method are unchanged, so existing integrations can adopt it without code changes.

This model is reasoning-capable. If your selected protocol and model route expose reasoning controls, preserve the returned reasoning metadata when continuing a conversation.

const response = await fetch("https://openapi.felo.ai/api/v1/messages", {
  method: 'POST',
  headers: {
    Authorization: `Bearer ${process.env.FELO_API_KEY}`,
    'Content-Type': 'application/json',
  },
  body: JSON.stringify({
