Felo OpenAPI vs OpenRouter
Same models at a fraction of the list price, plus the data APIs an agent needs — on one key.

Provider list price, next to the Felo rate
OpenRouter passes the provider's list price through: no markup, and no discount. Felo publishes a rate for every route, and the cheapest ones start at 10% of that same list price.

On GPT-6.1 Terra, 100M input and 10M output tokens cost $150 at list price — $30 here.

See every model and rateThe half OpenRouter doesn't sell: the 5,000+ API catalog
OpenRouter is a model gateway, with web search as a plugin inside a model call. Felo is a model gateway plus a data layer: a catalog of 5,000+ APIs behind the same key — search, page and document reading, slides and agent runs — so there is nothing left to bolt on.

Chat Completions, Anthropic Messages and OpenAI Responses are native endpoints, so the SDK you already ship is the migration. Data API calls bill to the same USD credits: one top-up covers models and data.

What OpenRouter still does better
- A fuller set of online services around the gateway.
- Public leaderboards of what people actually run.
For most people neither decides the bill. What does is simpler: LLM models that are easy to use and cost less — which is the part Felo is built around.
OpenRouter alternative: six questions before you switch
Is it OpenAI-compatible?
Yes. Chat calls use the OpenAI Chat Completions schema at https://openapi.felo.ai/api/v1, so the SDK and the request bodies you already have keep working. Anthropic clients use https://openapi.felo.ai/api — one level up, because that SDK appends /v1/messages itself.
Why is Felo cheaper than OpenRouter?
The rate is lower; nothing is rebated afterwards. Each model carries a Felo rate that starts at a tenth of the provider's official price, while OpenRouter passes the list price through. Your bill follows the rate on the model you call.
Can I use it with Claude Code and Cursor?
Yes. Claude Code and Codex each get a native endpoint — Anthropic Messages and Responses — and npx feloapi-cli setup writes the config for you. Cursor and any other client that accepts a custom base URL point at the same place.
Can I call image and video models too?
Yes. One key reaches 30 chat, 15 image and 10 video models, and each is billed at its own published rate. Chat calls and generation jobs draw on the same balance.
Do I need a subscription?
No. Usage is prepaid and charged per call at the published rate — no subscription, no seat fee, no minimum commitment. A key that makes no requests costs nothing.
Do I need an OpenRouter proxy URL?
No. A "proxy URL" field is usually just a base URL field — paste https://openapi.felo.ai/api/v1, add a Felo key, and the client talks to Felo directly. There is no relay to run and no second key to manage: one endpoint serves chat, images and video, so the thing those proxies were standing in for is already handled.
Try it on one call before you migrate
Create a key, top up from $1, and send a request with the SDK you already use.
